Default I have a flutter at 1300-1500 rpms

Has anyone every heard of this problem. Idle seems smooth raise the rpms to 1300 engine has a slight flutter go past 1500 rpm smooths out a little. Would the IDM or the ICP be more likly to cause this problem? Had two contibution tests done no negative feed back from either one. Intercooler tubes were leaking and flutter went away but when fixed flutter came back. new orings on all 8 injectors, cps replaced. any feed back would be helpful

Trying to help and find some information for lange503 on the oil sensors I stumbled across some interesting info on the oil temp sensor and that it will directly effect the fuel system by sending false readings to the pcm and in which sends the wrong signals to the fuel injectors on how to fire. going to investigate this by replacing the sensor and will update you guys when I figured out the results. Also noticed that the flutter is not there until it warms up

Well after all this time and generous (much appriciated) help from CSIPSD found that my #2 injector had failed. Now that the hoildays are behind us, I have been able to order my injector and it is finally here. I would install it right now but it's just to cold here Joe! You all know that us desert rats can't handle anything below 60 degrees. Just posting this to let you all know that I am going to install it this weekend (don't like working on things and running out of light) and update this thread with hopfully positive feed back, and not a

So far so good replaced the #2 injector and engine has fired. the problem of being broke financialy is I don't quite remember how bad it was running in october(besides the fact it wouldn't start) but it doesn't seem to be fluttering at 1300 rpm. Response and power seems to be better (AGAIN I THINK) Still have a loud tick in the motor, but 80% positive I have heard this in all models around this year and previous. (I THINK) If anyone can relate to this noise please repond to lay my worries to rest. (sound is similar to a rocker arm clicking on a push rod on a v8 gasoline motor but more faint)if this helps any.

I'm going home next weekend, but I would be more then willing to come out again after that...

Now that its running it makes it much easier to trace down any issues.

i was wondering if you ever found out about the ticking noise. mine has the same surging fluttering problem. it is a 99 f350. had it scanned and it showed fault in 1 3 8 injectors. replaced all 8 while i was in there. it still has the flutter about 40% of the time. but somtimes it runs great and smooth. when it s running rough i can hear a tick like you are talking about. planning on hooking it up to a scanner again monday. any info would help though. thanks
