Default Well gave it my best shot

All started with a flutter at about 1300 rpms and a small tuff of white smoke at an idle. All injectors are pumping oil threw the deflectors shields, buzz test had a positive out come, scanned for codes no codes found, took out all of the injectors and replaced the orings on all 8 and cleaned the carbon off the tips and sprayed down with carb cleaner, when it fired back up lots of white smoke (could have been blue dark outside) the smoke cleared up , but the flutter at 1300 rpm is still there and i think a little worse. I figure I fill it up with gas and add lucus injector cleaner to the tank and drive it, and see what happens. My guess is the flutter is an injector that is not sending the correct volume of fuel at 1000-1400 rpm range. Thanks lange503,kyle klein, csipsd you guys really helped out alot and I do truely appriciate it

I'm not sure how to test the turbo but when I rev the engine I can hear the whine from the turbo and there is a great volume of air that gets pushed threw the intercooler tubes when I forgot to tighten down one of the hose clamps it blew it off, this is my first diesel and new to all of this sorry about the lack of knowledge. If there is another way let me know I will definataly give it a look.

Like I said before, need to get it to someone who can run a contrbution test, KOER and watch some values... I suspect you have an injector issue, but its hard to say being 1800 miles away. Who knows, I was in Prescott a few months ago, maybe I will get back there again!

I took the truck down to a mechanic last saturday and got the contribution test done he said evreything checked fine on the computer told me to add lucus injector cleaner to the fuel see what it does and it kinda worked drove it to work this morning and ran like crap half way there but cleaned itself up for the last half. I think its lacking a little power, but I raise the rpms up to 1300 and the flutter is gone, let off and give the gas pedal a quick punch and it comes back until I let it idle for a few sec and I hear a click under the hood like a sileniod and flutter dissappears again. long story short I am narrowing it down. If it weren't for guys like you I would still be stuck in lala land. Your help is greatly appreiciated.

Well it looks like I have narrowed it down to HELL I DON"T KNOW it just seemed to fix itself turbo's back to normal, flutter is gone, mpg is back up. Found a cricket on the engine last night before I wraped it up for the night, maybe he fixed it. I would like to think of myself as a mechanic, but maybe magician is the more fitting term. I just got to dig threw my tool box and try to figure out which tool is the magic wand.
