Default mileage help

hey i got a 02 350 wit a 6 inch lift and 33s under it. it has a superchips cortex in it and i only get 13 mpg on a good day with it. about 9 pullin a trailer. i was wonderin if i could get any advice on what to add to my truck to get better mileage out of it and maybe even more power? i was planning on getting a s and b intake and mbrp 4 inch exhaust for it this fall. also would there be a better chip for all around hp then the cortex? it gives me plenty of power i hardly notice pulling a fully loaded trailer of cattle behind it (about 10000 pounds). ill take any advice anyone has.. thanks

Welcome to the site...

Any gauges in your truck? Pyro, boost and tranny temp?

First you need to make sure your truck is running properly!

i have a tranny temp, boost, fuel volume, all on the tuner i got the max boost i been gettin is right under 25, other then that no i dont have a pyro or anything else

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

i have thrown an icp sensor failure pulling trailers up big hills before and i had this checked out at two different ford dealers and neither could find anything wrong nor anything wrong with the rest of the truck

Need to get a pyro on there ASAP, that is one of the most important gauges you can have.

With 25#'s boost I dont think its the up pipes leaking, or a boost issue. Your still running the stock exhaust and intake? Changing them should net you about 1.5-2 MPG better...

What setting are you running the tuner at?

do you have a preference of what brand of pyro? i have it set on mileage save because of the fact that i live 25 miles away from town. the only time a change it is when i have the erge to race a little chevy and then i set it on performance. i havent lost a race yet... even though ive only raced three times

25psi is the "red" line... more then that and you are pushing hot air...

Surge can happen anywhere from 8-10 on up. Depends on the turbo and the surge line.

You'll have to mess with the drive train.

Lower back to stock, put tall, skinny tires on it, and drive 62 MPH. 255/85-16 tires are great for mileage.

Or buy a commuter car.
