Default help me i think i got burned on a motor, dont know where to start now?!!

hello, i am new to this here, but i allways read posts, heres my big prob,my 2000 7.3 had 500,000 plus miles on it before somthing went wrong, so i fig a would by a nother low mileage motors insted of rebiulding, so i find a motor with 128,000 on it. so i take the old one out and install new one,i am a lil above avrage mec, no expert at all. so back to story, i get it in, all done with care, and get her started up, it warms 5 mins well, here we go, it sounds like a intake valve it not closeing and itd popping out of intack by battery, loud, its like canning, plus coolant is dumping in oil, now i am disgusted!!! i always have bad luck!! so now where do i start, did i get scre--ed!! is there anything that can cause both at same time, or do i need to pull heads off.. man.., motor is clean no signs of high milage like any of my other trucks.so far it is not throwing any codes. but i cant drive it like that or run it to long, just trying to see if anyone knows what im missing, how can there be two major probs at once, im lost, anyone with any ideas please please, thanks

Could be an oil cooler, could be injector cups, could be headgasket...

If I had to guess with the rough running... Head gasket.

im guessing head gaskets to on the coolant but the popping out the air intake and through the turbo lines like that, intake valve stickin for some reson,?. but i was hoping i was missing something that could cause both at the same time, i guess i am just hoping on a star with a easy and quick fix.i just dont get how this guy drove this thing with both probs, it blows my mind, i guess i just have to start it and find the cold exhaust manifold port and start there, pull the cover and rip stuff apart,im just sick to my stomach and head. thanks for any help and ideas,,,

so i got the sticky valve fixed, and its not dummping coolant into oil,it must of been left over or somthing?, but now the motor misses and shakes has no power and oil is pouring out of turbo, so what now,bad injector and turbo leaking oil? can oil get into the turbo any other way? its alot of oil, i took the turbo out pipe off and watched it just poor right out, and i think the lower end is knockin, when i get some rpm out of it it starts to knock, not so much like compression knock, but really like a bad lower bearing. could the last owner hydro locked it and took the low end out somehow. im lost, i do have a new turbo i am gunna try to put on tomarrow to c if the oil is comming from bad turbo seals, still not throwing any codes. so is there any other way for oil to flow so freely out of turbo, thanks guys

sitting hear thinking as usual, if i have a bent push rod, would that at 1500 plus rpm sound super loud like a gas motor with a rod knock? because it would make my miss that im getting. how commin is that in a 7.3,,, im just tryin to keep my head up about this deal. thanks for any ideas guys keep puffin

Need to check all your pushrods...

And there is no way for oil to come out of the compressor side of the turbo other then blown turbo seals...

Not in the ammount you suggest.

If you are talking about the exhaust there are many things, but the compressor side it would be the turbo.

ok well sh.t on me as usual,,, so took off driver side cover, and to no suprize to find #2 rockers all f..d up,, the hold down bolts on intake rocker one was backed out almost all the way and the exhaust side one backed out and one broke off half liyin in there and other stuck in hole. so checked rockers still good, got new bolts fixed that, good, put new turbo on ready to rock n roll,, um sure truck runs better,, but still mad blue smoke (oil) out tail pipes, and still knocking at higher rpm, so gunna check pass side for loose rockers but really sounds like connect rod knock,,, so im gunna keep looking,, just fig i would throw this update in here,, man i have bad luck.... keep puffin puff puff pass

Your going to have blue smoke for quite a while if there was that much oil coming out of the turbo.

Your going to have to pull the Intercooler and clean it with soap and water to get the oil out, maybe even diluted simple green... That will help with the oil part.

Pull the other side and check for the same thing you found on the drivers side.

Its very hard to bend a rod...
