Default 7.3 smoking and skipping REAL BAD!!

Hey guys I have a 99 ford 7.3 in the shop that has a big problem! When it came in here the guy told me that the truck hasnt been runin right for a while now (loss of power and what not) and he was goin down the interstate the other day and the truck wouldnt run over 35mph!! Well the truck has a really bad miss in it and it is smoking like a freight train!!! The first thing I noticed when I got in the truck was that the water in fuel light was on. So I asked the owner how long that had been on and I got this answer...O thats been on forever!!!!!! OMG!! So I pulled the fuel filter out and the inside of the boil looked HORRIBLE!! So I cleaned it and put a new fuel filter in it. The water in fuel light went out but the truck still runs the same if not worse!!! I thank he got an injector what do yall thank?? O and its blue or gray smoke!

Sounds like an injector, or he dropped a injector nozzle, in which case I would bet he kept driving it and now has a cracked piston...

does it have excessive blow by?

Yes it does have some blow by. When you take the oil fill cap off it just puffs smoke. What is the best way to tell which cylinder is missing? I dont have a real fancy computer to tell me

You need a scanner to do a cylinder contrubution test... Otherwise its going to be near impossable to fine it.
