Default egt help?????

hello i have a 2001 f250 7.3 with a tony chip 4 inch off the turbo down to a straight 5inch all the way back with a k&n air filter i have my egt probe hooked right into the driver side exhaust manifold and with the chip turned all the way up all im seeing is about 800 egts with the pedal to the floor and when im driving its all the way down do u ppl think there might be a problem with my probe? thanks

If your seeing 800* max, then yes, you have an issue.

Look at your probe could be melted and getting an inaccurate reading.

that would be wonderful if it were true but there is no way it is, your probe must be getting a innacurate reading, might need a new one?

I wish my temp only got up to 800. When I tow my temp is about 800 on a straight away. When I floor it the temp just keeps going up and up. till I let off the throttle and I keep it around 1100 up hills.

yea thats why there saying the gauge is bad. theres now way he can top out at 800
