Default Blowby

Did a search and didn't find much but I have a 01 powerstroke, 150000 miles that had a Rear main leak...so I thought...but thanks to this forum found oil in valley and seem to have found the problem and corrected it with the crankcase breather fix. Problem is when stopped a a stop light it looks like my tranny took a dump...how much blowby is tooo much?? It doesn't use oil but looks bad. Also can a guy run the hose into the exhaust (weld a fitting in) towards the back without creating a problem for the motor???Thanks G

welcome to diesel bombers and how much blowby do you have if its not using oil it cant be that bad but where is the oil coming from at the stoplights and i have seen the breather tube run into the exhaust but install a pipe the same size as your hose that you have on your breather tube and run a piece of pipe about one foot long down the exhaust pipe so there is a vacuum pulling it

Diesels have a fair amount of blowby even new. You can weld a bung into the exhaust, but it needs to have a venturi effect on it, so the exhaust PULLS the CCV vapors out. Might has a ton right now, I dont even worry about it, its dumped right by the fuel tank.

Sorry,,, should of been more clear that the smoke coming out of the hose looks like my tranny is burning up . Worry about creating a vacum in the crankcase by routing the ccv into the exhaust as back in the day we did that on our drag cars for more power and ended up taking out the valve guides because oil wouldn't flow down the guide to lubicate. Think that could happen to my powerstroke or if I put the tube close to the outlet it would be fine??? and make it a straight tube or a 45 to create a vacum??? Thanks G

Needs to be at a parallel angle to the exhaust so that as the exhaust goes by it creates a vacuum and pulls the CCV out.

Kinda more trouble than its worth I think in the exhaust just let it dump under the truck. Mine stops under my fuel tank so its past the cab cause it stinks and will float up some at a stop if the wind isnt catching it
