New Guy w. Questions
Hi all,
I recently bought a 2003 F250 7.3L PSD. CC, 4X4 150K
K&N Air intake, 4 to 5" ehaust changes at crossmember,Boost gauge.
I am only getting around 7lbs. of boost when I get on it. Is this normal?
I have had a couple guys ride with me and them seem to think that it is a bit under powered. I pulled a 27' enclosed empty, (weight unknown) but it held it's speed fine. I am new to diesels and don't know where to start. Any suggestions are appricated. I plan on a
I just changed the oil and fuel filter(motorcraft).
TS chip in the near future.

No EGT gauge. Yeah, I figured the boost should be between 12 to 17 stock. I have no ideal whats going on. I have about the dame power as my Dad's 96 PSD and I think I should expect a lot more.
I'm not real sure where boost gauge is connected.(Already there when I bought ) I know that no matter how long the truck has been running I never gat anymore then the 7 lbs.

I am going to have the injectors scanned this weekend. I am also going to check gauge and turbo for leaks.
Correct me if I am wrong. To check for turbo leaks I need to:
Put fitting With a valve on before the intercooler and plug/seal right after the turbo. Pressureize to no more then 20 PSI and listen for leaks.

you can do that, but I would bet you have an issue with the gauge... Lots of people hook them to the Wastegate line. I dont know why someone would put a boost gauge in without a pyro... kinda backwards...
I think you are right. The gauge has a T that has the red line from the wastegate (red) line to it. Does that mean that it is attached to the wastegate? Will this effect my boost at the gauge?
