I have a 01 that is difficult to start. Until last week it ran great everyday. Always started even when not plugged and drove fine. This past week it became difficult to start running batteries dead before getting it to fire but then would be ok. Now it will only idle. Once it is running it idles good but one touch of the fuel pedal and it starts to rev then shuts down. Read that idling only means bad idle validation switch. Does this sound correct?

 

It could be the peddle, but I would run some codes first. Could be a bad ICP sensor, or a bad IPR, but I would bet you have a ICP sensor issue.

Do you have a way to read any codes or do any data logging?
