could this be oil burning because the injector didn't get fully seated?

Uncle installed injector(first time) o-rings were brand new(injector was reman) and used lube so o-rings wouldn't tear. Copper looked new as well. Did not check with a straight edge. Seems to happen mostly when I start it, but I just can't see back there when I'm driving so unsure if it happens all the time.

Need to make sure the old copper came out with the injector, you should ALWAYS use new coppers and o-rings. Once you have the injector seated with a dead blow hammer, then tq to 10ft#'s and take a straight edge and set it over the tops of all the injectors. If there not the same, you have an issue.

It said in manual not to use a hammer, or beat on the top of the injector. It looked like old copper was still on injector(the one we replaced) when it was pulled out. What is a dead blow hammer?

dead blow hammer is like a rubber mallet, but differant...LOL

You can seat the injector with a hit from your hand or something like that, but its much easier to thwack it with a dead blow hammer two or three times. You can hear when the injector is seated, the ping changes. If you did not fully seat the injector, more then likely thats where your white smoke is coming from.

Is it ok to drive it the way it is. I don't have a garage and the weather hasn't been cooperating with me? Thanks

If the injector is not seated, and you have alot of white smoke, its not ok to drive it. You will wash down the cylinder at best, or burn a hole clean thru the piston. Been there, done that.

here is the picture of the aftermath...

Do you know how many miles you put on before that happened? And what if any symptoms did the truck have to indicate a problem like that besides the white smoke? I only ask because I have been driving my truck up until this point.

About 20 miles... I was up in the middle of no where and needed to get somewhere with cell service. Lots of white smoke...
