Motor is going back to DI to get worked over, coated pistons with the bowls cut most likely... Then throw her back in with some differant tuning and hope for 500-525 on fuel.
The injectors are out now getting worked over, new nozzles and just a good check up.
The turbo is going out shortly, check up and all...
and the HPOP is going out as well.
I am too broke to get it really up there right now. O ya, the Cummins was VERY close to going in this time!

Then you would have always wondered " what could I have done with a 7.3" Good luck and hope you get it figured out.

I feel your pain. Bad pyrometer. Melted down one, put in another. Four months later, did it again. My clue was the oil coming out of the dipstick tube. Seems to me the number 5 piston is the first to melt, followed by number 7. As for the color, I went with Cat yellow. Good for leakes. I also like to give Duramax and Cummins guys B.S. "Yeah, it's a Cat 3480." I don't think they even made one of those. Most of them don't know what a Powerstroke looks like. It makes them leave me alone. It also makes me laugh. Really really hard.
