THE TRUCKS FINE NOW...JUST GLAD IT WENT INTO LIKE SAFE MODE AND WOULDNT RUN OR ID BE OUT A MOTOR..BUY MINES FINE...ALREADY PUT AROUND 10,000 MILES ON IT SINCE.....all i had to do was add oil ....

o yea another thing about doing your own oil change..i took it to a shop over here in dallas and i saw two kids tugging real hard on my oil filter and after that would leak like crazy...even after i told them be careful cause i dont want u to mess it up and also change the oil drain plug seal...they told me the seals fine and then thats when i saw them tugging on the oil filter...and now it leaks...so every single day it lets out about a cd size puddle everywere i go so im always adding out now... until i get enough money to get an oil change ill have to keep doin this

is there a reason you kept running it like that? or were you not aware at the time?

if a PSD doesn't have enough oil, it won't run, period... not really a safe mode, it just can't run because there isn't enough oil to create enough pressure to fire the injectores = no run...

The only places that have ever changed the oil on my truck is the dealership or me - just sucks getting rid of 4 gallons of oil every time..

and to the OP - why not just get a new oil filter and after letting your truck sit overnight or for a few hours to let the oil drain back to the pan (most anyway) and just change your filter. Then add oil if you need to... Simple fix rather than dumping oil everywhere... Also might get under there and make sure the filter is still tight against the seal.. it might have backed off some with the trucks vibrations if if wasn't on tight...
