My brother recently purchased a 99 f350. It has 109k miles on it. He is looking into getting the afe stage 2 air intake system and the edge evolution chip. He is wondering if running the chip on level 3 which is 200 ft lbs and with the intake if the transmission will be able to take the power or if it will tear it up

 

It really depends on how the truck and transmission was ran during the 109K miles. I probably wouldn't run it on anything over 80hp.

You can tear up a trans with no chip, so with the chip and enjoying the new found power, you`ll end up tearing it up. But if he wants big power, he will end up needing a built trans anyway.

john woods valve body is the way to go with a good tranny cooler

 

if your worried about it just change the trans fluid and filter, that will give you an indication of the shape of the trans.

 

dont waste the money on the Edge evolution! Call up Jody at DP-Tuner and have a custom chip burnt. The trans will thank u for it in the long run.

I have a 01 F-350 with almost 200k miles and i have a diablo chip that is set on a 110hp setting and my trans is still fine and i drive the **** out of it. But personally i wouldnt go with a edge i would go with a diablo or DP tuner,
