need some help here i heard that the first 6.0ls came with a non vgt(variable geometry turbo ) but im not sure ..i want to get one if it is that way and put on my 01 7.3l wondering if anyones done that

YES they are VGT

 

thats what i thought too but somebody told me that the very first ones came with a non-vgt turbo ..he said thats why those were so much louder than the rest but i wanted to see if any of u guys knew because i didnt trust that

then is there anyway to have a controller for the vgt and put it on a 7.3

 

The early 03's had 13 blades vers the later with 11, thats why they are louder. You do not want a VGT turbo on our trucks, there too small for our performance.

 

too many moving part in those turbos for me LOL
