Default Not yer average white smoke issue...

I'm in Ga. Bought this truck last weekend (2000 Excursion), has been sitting in my buddy's garage for 2 years due to dropping an injector. Just had remanned injectors, glow plugs and wiring harness installed prior to pickup. Have put 1300 miles on it since, with absolutely no issues (not a BIT of smoke, even on cold starts) until Tuesday morning. Fired right up, no smoke (as it has since purchased), let it warm while I loaded the dogs, then rode toward the beach. Never broke 30 MPH, come to a stop to make a left, and all of a sudden I hear a fluttering noise from the exhaust (straight pipe) and the white smoke started. Smells heavily of unburnt diesel. Truck starts fine, engine runs smooth, no missing, but smokes like my step mother did...constantly. Tried to drive it back from beach (1 mile) and it started dieseling so bad I was afraid I'd hydro lock the engine, smoking like a freight train, so we pulled it back. The truck at this time has no exhaust (someone stole the catalyst prior to purchase), I see no oil or fuel dripping from the pipe they cut the catalyst from.

-oil and filter changed at same time as injectors
-replaced fuel and air filters
-fuel bowl is filling when key cycled on (maybe low pressure=not atomizing fuel?)
-HPOP has oil (possibly low pressure not allowing injectors to open all the way?, or possibly clogged lines?
-possible ipr going bad?
-no starting issues (still)
-runs smooth (still)
-no diesel in coolant (still)
-oil cap test= mist like smoke and no pressure coming out (still)

Seemingly everyones smoking issues seem to be linked with hard or cold starting/rough running, or coolant leaks. Don't think I have any of those issues.
Looking forward to hearing from you guys, and making this beast my dream truck! (2000 Excursion, 7.3, Diablo Predator Tuner (off currently), exhaust delete, 8" Skyjacker Lift, 37" Dick Cepek F-C's)

At this point I really think I really have an injector stuck open...only way to tell is thermo...correct?

J.

I've let it run up to temp twice, still no injector codes (or any others besides the ones thrown because the batteries were unhooked). Going to do buzz test this evening. anyone ever heard of a buzz test causing a stuck OPEN injector to start operating correctly again?? Dude told me it could possibly happen, not gonna hold my breath though.

Not to big on powerstrokes but that's what happened on my cummins, no real problem went to jump start a buddy and I was warmed up idling and went to dumping a ton of white spoke and it was 2 injectors completely failed on me, sounds to me like that's your problem buddy, also I never threw a code but it was definitely my problem and it sounded like I had a knock. I know it's impossible to tell if a powerstroke is knocking though Haha. I ended up ordering 6 reman injectors and 60hp nozzles, dieselautopower has cheap injectors. I would highly recommend like 20% over injectors if you go that way

Went through all the diagnostics on here and other forums. Ended up taking outer and inner fenders off to give me good access to test temp on the manifolds...found the #1 & #2 cylinders were cooler @ OT than the rest (which made sense), but #2 was 15 degrees cooler than #1, which made it about 45 degrees cooler than the other 6. Was constantly testing temp on all 8 cylinders as she warmed up, and noticed that #2 had a 100 degree difference from the other 6 while coming up, while #1 maintained about a 15 degree difference from the other 6. Let it totally cool, fired it back up and let it warm for about 5 minutes....could barely touch anyplace on the manifolds EXCEPT @ #2...could wrap your hand around the pipe. Past all buzz tests (by the way, the Vgate bluetooth OBDII dongle and Torque Pro or Car Gauge Pro Are WELL worth the price IMO) and still has not thrown any codes. But we know the injector is flooding the cylinder now don't we. NEXT STEP!!! Who knows where to order RELIABLE remans? These came from Pensacola Diesel, who have, in the past provided a reliable product, but reading the reviews of late that seems not to be the case. And the (brand new with only 1300 miles on them ) remans just installed came from there. Suggestions?
