alternator not charging

I got a 2000 f 350. My batterys died. So I replaced both batterys and put a brand new alternator on. But im only reading 12.2 volts from the alternator. All fuses/fuseable links are good. Any ideas?

I had the same nightmare. After checking every fuse and wire in the truck it was the way my alternator was hooked up. Also, due to my Leakey windshield, my gem shorted out. I had to replace that and the fusebox.

Sounds like a poor connection issue, or a bad alternator. I have replaced an alternator, reman in box and it wasn't any good, then ended up ordering a new one online, no issue since!
