I got a friend who just got a 99 f350 7.3powerstoke with an automatic and there's a noise that sounds like its coming right from the bell housing and the noise sounds like a dry bearing is the only way I can describe it and it stops when you start accelerating it stops I only ever have stick shifts so I have no idea what this is or if its normal but any info is greatly appreciated

 

That is the torque converter making some noises. Does not thing other then get loud. time to go to the dealer and have changed out or replace it on your own.
