Smart move got a 1995 psd with over a million miles on it haven't done any major work on it just glow plugs and a water pump here and there my 2000 had 360k on it when I traded it had two 2003s with 250k plus no problems at all I had a 1991 cummins that was a money pit three rear ends and a injection pump and misc truck problems with less than 170k on it and had a 1998 that wiped out a tranny injection pump and dowl pin rubbed a hole in the front cover with less than 200k on it I hate cummins but some have luck and some don't

Love my 7.3L and would not trade it for anything, you need to do a detailed check on the motor to make sure there is not excessive wear and tear, as well with the tranny. Make sure the lift is stable at highway speeds so you don't get the death wobble. Make sure all u joints are good and check the axles. Dana 60s with the 38s can be rough on the carrier bearings as well. I just replaced all my u joints and my center support bearing as well. My truck is on 37x13.50s with a sykjacker 8" lift. Check your powersteering pump too. Like I said I love my 7.3L if you need help please feel free to ask.
