Ok new question. I read that the hpop res should be approx. 1/4 inch below threads. I added oil to mine but the level never moved. Is it connected to engine oil or completely separate? Used block heater last night and she fired right up and ran better today. Thanks yall.

 

its part of the oil system. it comes from the pan into the LPOP into the reservoir and then into the HPOP and into the heads.
