I'm not sure about the airaid, i'll look into it after i get out of school. And i was just going to start it, and feel the cylinders to make sure that they were all heating up evenly. If they don't, then i know that one, or some aren't firing. I'm really hoping they all are. Are they external? Or are they like the first gen duramax's.

 

They are just under the valve covers, but you can't really feel each cylinder, the block will heat up uniformly with how much oil and coolant running through it. So you won't be able to tell whether or not an injector is firing based off of observation.

 

Well i know on the first gen duramax's, normal people couldn't get to them. But on the 2nd gens, they were external. And if i were to run some bigger injectors, would that mod hold up for me? I'm really thinking about just selling this 7.3 and buying another, preferably one with a **** ton less miles.

 

You'll pay top dollar for a low mile ford any diesel.

Exactly, and the 7.3 is a 600k mile engine is you do proper mainietnance and dont burn it up. Adding power isnt harder on it if its done correctly without cutting corners. It will also be more rewarding and you will bond with your truck.

Dont expect to find a low mile truck within your budget and then have money left over to modify it. Hence, I suggest starting with the truck you already have and going from there.

And again, if you are worried about milage, you will definitely not find a low milage truck that will last as long as the 7.3. Your 7.3 has has 400k left in it, where as no duramax is gonna make it even close to 400k without major replacements. Cummins maybe, but like 1999stroker said, you will pay up the **** for low milage diesels, and frankly, its not worth it.

Check out php chip. and as far as the guages autometer has a better selection of styles but isspro is just as good and they are cheaper. I personally went with the autometer because i wanted digital gauges. But no you do not wanna spare any expense when monitering your temps and boost .because if you do then you will shooting yourself in the foo
