Question about exaust system on 2000 diesel f250

Default Question about exaust system on 2000 diesel f250
I have a 2000 ford f250 diesel and I am wondering if I have a 4 1/2 to 5 inch y pipe made and run the exhaust the same size as y pipe without muffler, will that increase power and fuel mileage?

I put a 4in strait pipe(no y pipe) on mine and got 30 miles a tank better fuel mileage ..and a little more power pulling my 40 foot flatbed. The turbo spools up faster.
