Nitrous won't do you any good without the fuel already there.

It'll just put the fire out...

Exactly...what he said. It'll damn sure make a mess of a motor when there isnt any fuel there.

Your 01 truck (old thread I know but to correct some wrong info) has PMR's. Stay away from any kind of drug for power adding. Fuel and fuel only. A good set of hybrid injectors or stage 2's, fuel system and a turbo (not a modded stocker) will net you a safe 400hp on a PMR motor.

Forged rods are in the 7.3 up to late 2000 build dates on the motor. anything from late 2000 to early 01, check the motor thru the port on the drivers side. Anything after early 01... PMR's...

The Nitrous Mastermind does a resistance and voltage test on all solenoids and components to verify they are operating correctly. When they get outside a specified range it shuts the system down and informs you of a problem.

that is correct BUT the use of a progressive controller does wear them out sooner than using them in an ON/OFF setup as in WOT opperation. A guy that races with us replaces solonoids atleast once a year due to the coils failing in them from opening and closing non-stop until 100% flow is acheived. i've used solonoids that are 8+years old (as the one on my truck now) that has only been controled at WOT by a microswitch.

i am in no way saying you are wrong. i'm stating that using one of those controllers in the long run will cause you problems with solonoids. BUT solonoids are WAY cheaper to replace than heads, pistons, rods, a block, or God forbid an entire truck or someone's life due to one of those failing.
