Default random loss of power when pulling away from dead stop only

Hello

I have a 2001 Ford F350 &.3 Turbo with 131K miles

my problem has happened in the mornings when its 30F outside as well as in the afternoon when its 70F outside

up until today this problem has only happened when i am puling away from a location after starting the vehicle up - so for example this morning i had the engine block heater plugged in bcus it got cold over the night and then started the truck up which it started very snappy and nice ... let it idle for a few then backed out of the driveway
when i put it in drive and hit the gas pedal the truck barely moves and the rpm dont increase - regardless of how much you push into the pedal or if you let off and push it again it inches moves forward slowww and the rpms dont increase but then after like 5 seconds it kicks in and theres power
after that first time of no power when pulling away the truck is fine - it kicks down fine and then when i come to a stop at a stop light it pulls away fine

I have replaced the idle validation sensor becuase alot of individuals had a similiar problem and it was the sensor that is built into the gas pedal and it didnt help
i have also replaced the fuel filter, oil and oil filter, alternator, both new batteries, serp belt

then today i had the problem when i was pulling away and then at the first stop light i had it wouldnt gain any power or rpms then after 5 seconds it kicked it

it seems as the turbo has to build up pressure or something

any thoughts

this is my first diesel and first turbo so im on a learning curve

THanks!!

I'm still learning about diesels too, but I think there is a throttle position sensor and an idle validation switch on the pedle. Could be that you have an issue with the throttle position sensor. I believe there is a mod for it that can increase the response time from the pedel as well.

Sounds like something is wrong with your accelerator pedal not getting the signal through. Either the TPS or something else...
