electrical problem
If i have an intermittently bad connection on a valve cover harness, would it show up on a scan? I get an occasional loss of power (definatly electrical by how suddenly it comes and goes) and it will turn the cell on, but doesn't leave a code.
Usually a harness connection problem will turn the cel on and leave a code. Not sure what you mean by show up on a scan though... It might show on a buzz test because that tests the electrical side of the injector.
It's not leaving a code, and I can't find any items on a scanner that go funky.
Buzz test is fine, no problems in any of the other tests. The cell only stays on while it is acting up and it is (so far) self correcting.

Loss of power seems more like it returns to idle and only TRIES to go when throttle is pushed. It will reset in a few moments and run normally whether my foot was on the throttle or not. I'm thinking IVS or TPS, any thoughts on whitch? If it is just the TPS, I can replace it for @ $50. if it is the intigrated IVS microswitch, Do I have to replace the whole pedal assembly ???
problem finally persisted. I was able to get a scanner on it and noticed the pulse width was alternating funky. The buzz test revealed p0276. I followed procedure and discovered a bad IDM. I swapped in the one from my 96 and now it runs perfect.
