Default Turbo Removal

What's the best way or to remove the turbo on a 94 powerstroke. Cause I gotta replace my compressor wheel, and found out I gotta take the turbo out to do it.

i dont believe you have to remove the turbo to replace the compressor wheel. I think you pull off the compressor side housing and get the nut off with a impact gun go to youtube and search wicked wheel and there is a video by powerstrokehelp showing how to install one

haha ya that's what I'll need to take it off. And I looked at it and the new style has a different pedistal so the turbo sits up higher. I've done one on a late 99 and ya it was easy. But then on mine i tried and the bottom of the housing is too close to the valve cover. so that's when I found out I gotta take the turbo off.

yeah the SD turbos are easy to take off. the bottom bolt on the drivers side for the exhaust flange is a PIA. get that loose then remove the up pipes. then 4 bolts on the pedistol and it comes off.

You have to remove the pedistal with the turbo on the OBS truck. I'd like to kick the asshat that designed that system squarely in the nuts...
