oil looks good and tastes like diesel oil i think its just the injectors because they are starting to to knock pretty good

Hey I'm new as well and I have the same problem I do believe my self that is the turbo it sounds normal and everything but I think it's the seals.

I also have the same problem. And lately she's had trouble firing over cold. It just rolls smoke. When it warms up it's fine.

Like I said before, check the downpipe for oil, typical sign of turbo seals...

Yours sounds more like glow plugs or an injector issue maybe...

I'm looking at bigger injectors any way. Recommendations??

Let's try not to muck up the Original posters thread here too much, but plenty of good info on injectors here. It really depends on what your looking for horsepower-wise and how much you can afford. I have some stage 1's and I really enjoy it mostly because I didn't have to dump a ton of money into it and the truck runs strong.

Could it be the injectors going bad? they knock pretty hard at idle and its kinda rough as well iv checked all the harnesses and they are good.

also keep in mind these injectors have 336,000 miles on them and they are the original injectors from 97

Yep, very possible with that many miles... Wouldn't know unless you flowed them..

that is what im thinking it just keeps getting worse and when i get on the pedal hard i feels really slugish
