it's "R" drill bit. pipe sizes are different than regular inch sizes. what gauges did you get?

i've got a cummins so all i did was drill and tap near the last exhaust port, i had a buddie hold a vacuum to pick up any spare chips, then just stuck a little pen magnent in the hole and got the rest of the chips out. just take your time, those manifolds are made of really hard steel and might make bits break pretty easy. start with a small bit and work your way up.

I was actually really surprised how easy it was to get through the manifold... Get a quality bit and you will pop through it fairly quick...

they're cast iron, it's rigid but it cracks easily if hit in the right spot, with a good drill i should be able to get right through. the reason i posted this thread was because of the limited space to drill on a powerstroke. I'm not gonna bash but this is the one case where i wish i had a cummins, just for the amount of space you have to get to everything.

ISSPRO...? what model? cast won't just crack because you have the hole in the wrong spot. it needs to get hit, hit something, etc.. napa actaully has decent bits. but they are ungodly sharp. so don't push to hard or it will grab and break off

wow.... i cant believe i said ISSPRO. ok i withdraw that answer, i wanted ISSPRO but realized they were too much for me (im on a college budget). sorry everyone, im ashamed to say i bought Glow Shift gauges I know I know, I deserve a good hazing here.... but I will say, i know people who hooked these up word for word by the directions and have not had any issues with them, plus they have a good warranty. and they were cheap
