i know it. i was at the ford store today and checked on the unit bearings. $416.92 for one. but if a spindle kit is about $1400, it will pay for its self.

if not longer. when i did ball joints on my 96 at 142K i replaced the bearings and the old factory set looked brand new. and i did some research on why they went to the unit bearing. the only thing i could come up with was so they could assemble the vehicle faster.

yeah to a point. they saved 20 minutes in a 5 day work week. Lol. oh have you ever seen the small roll pin that holds the pressure line to the clutch master cylinder fall out and and when you push on the clutch it blows the line off?

I can't say i have, i've changed a couple of them before but never because of that. i found usually on the 99'-03' trucks when you change the clutch pedal assembly because of that bushing going bad, when you pull the push rod/neutral safety switch out of the clutch master the hold in clamp would fall out. thats about it haha

well i must have gotten a crappy kit. i just replaced the clutch and hydraulics the weekend before thanksgiving. i got the hydraulics from ford. well yesterday that happened. when the pedal hit the floor i was like what the hell just happened? and i told the ford guys they were replacing it free of charge. and they did but the push rod isn't really meant to come out once it's in. the switch is a two piece job that's kinda a pain to get un done.
