I at people who say c channels are junk. It is what they use in the f250's today and what they have used in big rigs and heavy duty trucks for years.

Anyway not here to get into a pissing match over 1/2 ton vs 3/4 ton trucks.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrt they use fully boxed ladder frames my friend, check your facts. Hell, even f150's use a fully boxed ladder frame. C channel IS junk. Look up videos on youtube on how much chassis flex that pos toyota has with it's amazing c-channel frame.

You should get your facts straight. F150's do but all Superduty trucks have C Channel. Hmmmmm, I wonder why Ford would put C channel on the superduty? Hmmmm.

THEY DONT have c-channel in superduties. I've owned 2. I would know. And I just went to Fords website and noted that the 'new' superduties STILL use fully boxed ladder frames. Duracraps are now being produced with boxed ladder frames too. Please, dont argue physics with me. A fully boxed piece of steel with multiple reinforcements is MUCH stronger than 1-half a piece of steel.

Check out how 'tough' a tundra frame is at :30, and again at :40.

I don't want to call BS but BS. Go to your local Ford dealer and look at any Superduty. C-Channel. Better yet watch this video I made:

So to end this thread, I finally made my purchase. It is a 94 PSD extended cab 4x4 5 speed. Consider this thread closed.

Thanks. The body is in rough shape, but the drive train seems solid. Hafta remove the 5th wheel hitch and figure out if the drivers side leaf spring is broken. I have a sagging corner on the bed.

Northern Indiana. It wasn't the spring itself, it was the hanger. It was a PITA to fix, but it is done. I have to try and figure out the wandering steering now. sounds like it is likely the ball joints.
