97 rod out the block!
have about 500 miles on my newer motor (80,000m when i bought it) and driving it home from work got on it doin 65 to get in froint of a car and shot a rod out the side of the block!!! anyone ever had this expierence has intake, down pipe, stack, 4 inch ex, split shots, and edge chip.....P.S found piece of rod two lanes over and had have a 6 inch hole in side of block! gnarly! fresh oil, good oil pressure and never got hot..

where was it wrecked? nevermind. my scenarios deal with a rod going down not sideways. ya sure it ran fine and the oil was perfect. pressure and all? were you watching it at the time?

and you say it had split shots? i'm gonna need someone else to chime in to aid me on this one but i remember something about split shots needing a computer that's set up for split shots

not sure on exact measurement but checked the oil the day before and it was perfect not to much and not to little...had to be a freak accident.lookling at the rod i found on ground it looks like it broke one of the bolts off at the crank and got spun off if tht makes sence ill try and put up a pic of the piece i found
. this truck hasd been a demon to me! love the truck and power but have had nothing but problems=[

any chance we could get a pic of the crank through the hole? and maybe put a magnet on a handle down there and see if we can fish out any other pieces? with that it wouldn't be too hard to say what happened really. not a hole lot of options. oh and possibly spin the crank over and see if its unbalanced. with the accident that was one of my main thoughts if it was a front end deal

i can try tommoro its right under the manifold between the frame so idk how good the pic will be and motor will not trn over. it was rolled on its side in the accident<a href="http://s627.photobucket.com/albums/tt353/jyoung312/?action=view&current=rod.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt353/jyoung312/rod.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
