Default Rough idle

My truck has a rough idle for a few seconds when I first start and sometimes when I push the clutch in to stop. Just anybody know what causes this? Is it a bad thing?
Also sometimes when I go to start it, I will think it is goin and when I let off it just dies. Then I start it up again and it has a little white smoke come out? I'm just trying to figure out if something is about to go out or if that is normal? My buddies has a rough start too.

How many miles on the truck?

Next time before you start it, Check your HPOP reservoir level...

Only 98k. It only does it sometimes. Like earlier I was messin with my exhaust and started it up and it was perfect and revved it up and it did perfect. It only does it sometimes. But when I put it in neutral and roll up to a traffic light, I can feel it idling rough and the gauge jerks a little

I had a similar problem. It was the dual mass flywheel.

I just had a new clutch put in at the dealership? Prolly about 2-3 months ago

Also do our trucks have intercoolers or is that the trans cooler in the front at the bottom or what is that?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Also my buddy has a 97' that has an automatic trans and his does the same thing starting up?

No intercooler on OBS trucks...

Mine used to lope when I first started the truck, Doesn't do it now that I swapped injectors.. That shouldn't be your problem though.
