Default towing and oils

I have a 95 7.3 powerstroke. I am getting ready to go on vacation and pull a big camper. What types of oil and filters would be best for my motor and transmission?

I use Chevron Delo-400 and a motorcraft filter in my truck... A lot of guys run Schaeffers or however you spell that. I just can't afford that...

For the Tranny, Mercon (I forget which one, either V or straight), Or schaeffers again (I believe that is what BTS uses)

I run oil... What ever Diesel rated oil Wal-Mart has on sale that week... And Napa or Motorcraft filters.

Change it every 3-5k and you will be good to go.

The syn comment was directed towards the tranny, but the engine could as well. With the miles, if leaking or using any oil now, then it might not be the best choice unless those are fixed.

I run Rotella conventional 15-40 and a quart or two of lucas oil stabilizer (in summer) with wix filters and my 7.3 with 200+k and it really cleaned out all the gunk in my engine from the crappy oil in it when I bought it.

Your killing your injectors with that Lucas... It foams BAD when used in the HPO system on our trucks. Save your money... Bad stuff.

I have ran the lucas injector cleaner that you add to the fuel. Don't know if it does anything but I like to think it does.
