a 7.3 crapping out after 270k? what was wrong with it? i know 7.3s can and do only last 100k miles but some go 500k+ with no problems. Just curious to what happend to the motor?

IT was one little thing after another trany going out was the final straw it was also our only vehicle and could not see wasting anymore on it

the 7.3's that only last 100K is because of maintenance. if you take care of it, they'll run forever. that goes for just about everyhing.

oh ok i hear ya, I agree with you fordornothing, iv seen people who own 7.3s and they dont give a crap about the maint! sometimes i just want to ask those people if they will give me the truck if they are just gonna tear it up and dont care. Its mostly dumba$$ kids who dont even know how to drive a truck

The fuel pressure went from 40# to65#,as for the maintaince $85.00 for amsoil+2 filters twice a year +oil,amsoil in trany every other year then still goe's bad,then to teach us a lesson was
turning truck around and steering shaft breaks off in garage new steering box,injectors going bad if you do not have the tools or do not know how to change them FORD garage wanted $750.00 for 1 injector,like i said you have to cut your loses at sometime,THANK'S
