i stuck with the stock 3.5" pipe and cut the muffler off the next thing will be the cat
but i found 3.5" at a diesel shop and it was only $7.90 a foot and i think it sounds good.

BD Power - Product: 7.3L Compressor Wheel Upgrad

I like this wheel personally, but there are other wheels out there, I initially said exhaust wheel but i meant compressor wheel, I think it's pretty simple to put in too, gonna take some time but not to much really

guess i didn't pay attention to that, whoops, just stops sure associated with upping power and electronic performance parts, in a perfect world a turbo would run at a 1:1 ratio that means for 25psi of boost you'd have 25psi of backpressure, I know that is a problem on the powerstrokes from 99-03 and not as sure on the older ones i guess, I wish someone would chime in that has one of them, an aftermarket turbo, exhaust that is 4" all the way through and an intake and moderate tuner would probably be the best for what you're looking to do

I got a MBRP Aluminized 4" bolt - on turbo back kit for 300. shipped. I also did the .84 exhaust housing it is way awesome and the stock engine loves it. Now my only problem is i keep blowing out exhaust donuts. I got the housing from Dpppower.com for 150 and a turbo rebuild kit for 80. I would hit 25psi quick and my egt's never get over 1200 and i towed my 27' trailer over 8% grades with no problems.
