how do you figure out what gears you have

 

are they in the truck or out of the truck? if there in the truck spin the drive shaft until the tires make one full rotation and divide the two i believe i may be wrong, if there out of the truck count the ribs on the ring and the ribs on the pinion and divide the bigger number from the smaller number.

 

what about tags on the housing front rearend and back rearend have you checked there

 

Check the tags or there is an axle code in the door jam

 

there is a few sites that list the tooth count, i can't remember the counts off hand but i remember doing it on a junkyard dana 60

 

C5 axle= 410 limited slip. Thx for the help fellas

 

the tag gives a code cross referance from their. The manufactor has a list of code go to ford or use the net. Pull out the hog head and start counting teeth on the ring gear and the pinion way to much work. get the codes to easy.
