Wrong again.
Max torque is NOT where your TRUCK is running at most efficient, It is where your ENGINE is running at most efficient. Huge difference. There is no magical speed where you get your best mpg. The faster you go, the worse your mpg. Engine efficiency CANNOT change this.
Best you can do is match rpm to the speed you plan to travel by selecting proper tire and gear... not vice versa. If you are only concerned with mpg, then you must slow down.
