94.5 was the first year for the powerstroke, but the first thing I would do is throw a pyro in there.

After that, a well tuned chip will open it up quite a bit.

Other weak points on the OBS trucks are the intake and exhaust. A tymar type intake is a great, cheap upgrade that flows all the air you would ever need.

Next would be at the min a 3" down pipe, if you wanted to do a full exhaust past that you can, but 70% of the gain on a OBS will be getting rid of the factory squashed pipe.

Full Exhaust can be had for about $300, Intake can be made for about $80, and a chip will run you about $350-$400

I would get a chip from Power Hungry Performance... post up in there area above...

SCT is great for a 6.0, but for the 7.3's you want a 6 pos chip that mounts to the PCM. gives you shift on the fly ability.

As I said above, get atleast an EGT gauge. The OBS with the squashed down pipe will get HOT quick.

i think the best chip out there is the Tony Wildman custom tuned. check out totaldesielperformance.com
life time reburns, in case you upgrade, and you can get up to 6 positions, shift on the fly, i loved mine and i tried a few different chips/tuners on my old powerstroke before i got my TW.

or get performance exhaust FIRST!!! no need to take the risk...
Just get BOost, Pyro, and tranny gauges...
then intake, exhaust and chip...
