Default Wiring Clearance Lights 97 f-250, HELP!!!

I bought my truck a few months ago (1997 Ford F-250 HD, 7.3l regular cab), it didn't have clearance lights on it, so i got a kit for it from summit racing. The kit came with a switch to turn on the lights, but i want to hook up the clearance lights along with my headlights. I just don't know how to go about wiring the lights, some people said that there is a box behind the passenger kick panel, but i don't know what it looks like. I have tested all the wires for power and i cant seem to find which one it is. I've also tried following the wires but i cant seem to find out where it goes?
Then i tried to see if i could hook up the wires right to my light switch, and now my dash lights and tail lights don't work?
What should i do?
