Default 97 f350 gauge wiring nightmare

i just got a set of gauges in my truck and am having the worst time ever..got them all in..they light up and do the test sweep but the egt and trans temp read zero. plus the color memory isn't working either. the trans and egt do move up and down though sometimes when I have certain accessories on like the a/c and my headlights. ewhen I open the door and the dome lights and buzzer turn on the trans temp jumps. I have checked all my grounds and they look fine...obviously my constant isn't working because the color isn't saving but why are the gauges jumping like the want power, but aren't getting enough???...ive been at this for about a week trying to fix it...someone help....

Try a different spot for your hot wire. I hooked mine up to the same place as the radio hooks up. That also where I hooked up my cb. It a fuse slot so u will need to
Get a skin piece of metal to slide in there that u can attach u wire to on the other end. The right location will be on the back of the fuse plate cover. I hope this helps

The radio is gonna be probably your best spot. But ya look and see which location and anyother one that comes on when you turn the key on will also do. I got my power hooked up through the radio and my lights with the light fuse.
