I bought a ts 6 pos from my buddy, cleaned the terminals and installed, truck wouldnt start so i removed the chip and the truck started, so I cleaned more and installed and wouldn't start again, I've done this 6 or 7 times and every time with the chip installed, the wait to start light flickers and the truck won't start, I remove it and it won't. Any ideas? My truck is a 96 with a 5 speed

 

it kinda sounds like theres something wrong with the chip, cause that's the chip i got on mine and it fired right up, so i would check the chip and see if its clean and ok

 

did your buddy have an auto matic or a 5 speed? because those chips are set up for different trannys and a couple of my buddies had the same problem all because of the download that they had on the chip other then that clean the chip and test i have a 96 auto and i have the 6 pos chip in mine and mine fired right up after installing

 

did you clean both sides of the pcm?

 

I bought a ts performance 6position chip that came off a 97 7.3 and I and putting it on my 2000 7.3 and I cleaned it very well I put it on and I turn the key on and no wait to start light will come on and it will not start I turn the chip to position 6 I get a wait to start light but still will not start I turn it back to stock and it will start but if I push on the throttle I get nothing any ideas on why it won't work

 

Because its not tuned for your pickup, the 97 and 2000 have different computers

 

I recently bought a 97 f250 7.3 with an auto tranny and have a ts 6 position for a 99-03 7.3 with an auto tranny if you still have yours and would be willing to trade

 

A little research go's a long way.
