It is the intake.
The second I replaced the stock intake, with your same intake, and did nothing else, it got LOUDER!
it got louder in the cab, it got louder outside the cab, it got louder under the truck, it got louder over the truck, it got louder if you stood on your head. IT IS THE INTAKE!

He's talking about the "Crack" from the HEUI injection. Not intake noise.

that "crack" noise comes out louder through a modded intake. I know exactly what he's talking about, I have heard the difference pre and post intake mod. I can go listen to them right now because I have two OBS Powerstrokes, one with the mod, one stock... It's the engine noise (including the "injector crack") coming out even louder through the intake. The intake itself makes no noise, but it does funnel it out. How do you think a simple (non-electric) cheerleader's megaphone works? Go start a stock truck, then remove the filter cover and hear how much engine noise comes out there! The stock intake has excellent noise suppression and no-doubt, was designed that way.

...IT IS THE INTAKE!

I asked this question before on here. I have heard some that are loud and some are a little more quiet. I have been curious to what the cause is but never really found out. I thought it was my injectors that made it louder but I put new ones in and same noise and everything is fine.

Each truck is different there is loud ones and quiet ones I really don't kno if there is a solution as long as everything is working properly I wouldn't worry to much about it and just smile when your neighbors come out telling you to shut off that loud *** diesel
