Default 97 f350 edge evolution question

so i just totaled my bone stock 2nd gen dodge and bought a 1997 f350 7.3L with a 4 inch exhaust a cold air intake and a superchips programmer on it. coming from the 12v realm i know nothing really about programers and chips . the truck has a really mild tune on it for gas mileage the guy no longer has the programmer and id like to take it back to stock and run an edge CST evolution for the back up camera and the parameters settings...it will come out cheaper than doing gauges and separate back up camera. my question is will the edge take me back to stock or what should i do just plug up the cst and take it to an economy or towing setting my experience with programmers is sitting in the truck when my buddy flash his duramax. i use the truck for towing my jeep to the trails so never more than about 6k lbs behind it. thanks for the help guys

i always heard to stay away from the edge on these trucks i looked at them to. I ended up getting a TS and its great. you can switch tunes on the fly.

but the CTS monitor is a very nice thing to have also. i might put one in my truck too.

i also seen a company that put tunes on the CTS and CT monitors for these trucks i cant remember their name now, I'm sure someone on here knows who it is.

Yeah I've heard so many mixed reviews idk. I think I'll just buy it and run the ts chip and use it for the gauges and back up camera. I'm heading to my local diesel shop that specializes in fords and see what they have to say

I had nothing but problems with my edge programmer. The programmer display would just turn off. Sometimes in 15 minutes sometimes a hour. You pushed the power button it would come on again and then turn off in about 5 seconds. So I called Edge. the 1st time they had me take out my programmer and do a update on it so they could check the unit. They said there was a voltage drop and that is what was causing the problem. So I used the voltage gauge on the programmer and watched it. No voltage drop at all and it shut down. So I called back they blamed it on my stereo so I pulled the fuse on that. Guess what same thing. I called them a 3rd time and was told that this was a known and common problem that they could not fix with my series of truck. They said there was nothing they could do. Not even give me a refund! Being extremely pissed off I called thoroughbred diesel were I bought it and explained what had happened and they gave me a full refund and even gave me a great deal on a TS 6 position chip which imo is a much better addition to my truck I would recommend these great folks all day long if you need anything for your truck. I did learn my lesson and will never by or recommend another person to ever buy any type of product from edge. I had been planning on putting a edge CTS in my 03 Yukon but not now. SCT is now getting my business even tough they are a little more money way better customer service from what I have encountered so far and have yet to buy the unit.. Thats just my .02

I have an Edge cs in my 95 f-250 automatic, I like the display options and the power, but hate the hard shifting, feels like its going to tear the rear-end out! I keep it on stock settings 99% of the time. Switching from power levels is a pain too, have to stop the engine.
