Default vacuum pump went out

Like the title says, my vacuum pump went out on my 95 psd. ford wants $300 for the part and the reman stores want $150. jegs sells an electronic vacuum pump for $80.. would that work? or should I just quit being such a tight *** and buy the right part? thanks.

well, the electric would probably work but what about the belt? in my experience, the BRAND NEW vac pumps last longer. i went thru 3 reman pumps in a month. picked up a new one and haven't had a issue since. i prefer NAPA parts but that's just me.

as for the belt, I'd just leave the old pump on.. and yea i'd hate to put a reman pump on but i'm pretty strapped for cash.

Don't buy a reman pump, I bought 2 and they both died in about 10k miles. If you can make an electric work do that or buy from ford

yea have no idea about if it'll be strong enough either. but I figure they make these things for race cars to power their boosters so why wouldn't it power mine? But that's just a guess
