vacuum pump went out
Like the title says, my vacuum pump went out on my 95 psd. ford wants $300 for the part and the reman stores want $150. jegs sells an electronic vacuum pump for $80.. would that work? or should I just quit being such a tight ass and buy the right part? thanks.
well, the electric would probably work but what about the belt? in my experience, the BRAND NEW vac pumps last longer. i went thru 3 reman pumps in a month. picked up a new one and haven't had a issue since. i prefer NAPA parts but that's just me.
as for the belt, I'd just leave the old pump on.. and yea i'd hate to put a reman pump on but i'm pretty strapped for cash.
oh yours just quit pumping but the bearings are fine? will hell, you could run the electric then. i don't know if it would put out enough tho.
Don't buy a reman pump, I bought 2 and they both died in about 10k miles. If you can make an electric work do that or buy from ford
yea have no idea about if it'll be strong enough either. but I figure they make these things for race cars to power their boosters so why wouldn't it power mine? But that's just a guess
i just bought a new one from oreillys for like $85 and mine seems to be doing good.
the oreillys around me said the part was going to be $140?
hey ahhh, do race drivers ride the brakes or rely on brakes everyday in their race cars? like i said, see if you can find out how much vac it creates.
i just replaced mine for 130 brand new at welles seems fine i wouldnt go to ford or go to an electric one
