So far its a great truck. We havent seen any in the shop except for maintenance. Everybody I know that owns one loves it. My brother in law has one he uses it for work as a general contractor and tows an 18k lbs trailer everyday. He hasnt had any issues and is going on 20k miles. My dealership owner has one and loves it. We lifted it and chipped it with a DPF delete and it hasnt had any concerns either.

For what its worth both of my ford diesels have "ticked" and both have ran just fine, also just look out for the tranny 3 to 1 problems and some turbo surge issues are starting to surface. So far its is only on some trucks though, 2012 models had the transmission problem fixed I think but other than that good trucks so far

I read elsewhere there are problems with the 2011 6.7 fuel system. Some owners in IL reported water in fuel (WIF) light coming on, and even after immediately draining contamination got by the filter system and caused substantial damage (~ $18K). This was not covered by warranty. While many attribute this to bad fuel (biodiesel having a greater affinity for water, etc), others believe Ford should design a fuel system capable of dealing with the issue.
I'm interested in upgrading to a 6.7 but this has me really spooked. Are there any changes for 2012 that address this problem?

my buddy has a 2011 dually that tows everyday with it. i think around 40k the turbo went out, and he has had 2 rear ends put in too around 70k or 80k. he still loves it, but has me concerned about upgrading just yet. i know his fuel milage is right about the same as my chipped 7.3 and his is all stock.

Really like my 11 6.7 powerstroke so far. But I only have 12,000 miles on it. But 3/4 of the miles are heavy towing.
I also have a friend that has a 12 6.7 powerstoke. And he has around 15K on his. His only issue so far is a check coolent lite came on. Dealer wants $80 to do some computer test on the water. Which I don't get

my buddy just put a chip in it. hes an old timer, so idk even if he knows what kind it is! i know the truck sounds a lot different...2nd turbo just went out of his truck 3 wks ago or so. 120k or so. i know i wont be buying one anytime soon!!! i put 130k on my 7.3 last year and i can't afford the down time of 2 turbos and 2 rear ends out of a brand new truck.
