HELP asap! should i buy 08 f250 or not?
hi i am lookinf for advice i am looking for my very first diesel truck. i have found a 2008 f250 king ranck 4x4 it's in mint condition its got 112k miles asking $26.9k carfax says thats 2.6k too much... but i have herd as much bad as i have good from these 6.4L diesels. the carfax on this truck is one owner and shows the following service history: 17,000 miles front driveshaft removed and installed frond crankshaft oil seal replaced, 30,000 miles radiator replaced engine powertrain controller module reprogrammed, 59,000 miles replaced battery charging system checked, 77,000 miles fuel pump replaced ecm replaced, body electrical wireing repaired, 95,000 miles egr valve replaced, 100,000 miles turbocharger repaired/replaced, 102,000 miles battery replaced, and lots of regular mantenance and service done. all work done by ford dealer. is this a truck with all the kinks worked out or is this a lemon truck?? i looked another identical truck (color&king ranch package,105,00 miles) to the tee except 2wd and there is only one service record for regular inspection mantanence. so that makes me woder if the one i want is a lemon or the 2wd one i looked up tho compare records with was a neglected truck because wouldnt some one with a 60,000 dollar truck take it in for regular inspections?? only have tonigh and tommorow to decide help please

What part of it makes it sound like a lemon? The radiators were a big problem when the first came out and Ford replaced all of them. The only other thing that sounds a little out of the ordinary is the fuel pump, but that could happen to anyone. The ONLY one I'd be concerned with is the turbo. Maybe pull the intake off and inspect the impeller on the low pressure to see what it looks like. As long as it has a good clean air filter in front of it, it shouldn't be an issue.
Just because the other truck doesn't have any records doesn't mean anything. Mine would have no records for maintenance, cause I do it all myself...

6.4
it was a king ranch i guess thats y it was that much i wasnt planning on paying that exact price but it got sold. i am still looking and still leaning towards the 6.4 and what made me think it was a lemon was that it cost 60,000 dollars and less than 90,00 miles it had like 6 major problems. gotta remember i been a gas owner 15k bucks for a used truck zero problems or recalls 1,400 bucks and 2 days later rebuilt trans with warranty and thats at 120k-200k miles at the level of abuse my lifestyle puts out on daily bases. i am still convenced that at this moment a gas engine is the better engine reliability wise it just lacks torque and fuel economy and a heavy duty trans but if they slapped a turbo from factory on em all it would lack is a heavy duty trans. and i realize diesels are only having problems because of the govenment emisison regulations and that if it wasnt for that then theyd run like a champ for 15 years problem free im not knocking them im looking to buy one just wann know what is the best buy

the hell with spending money on one a used $25,000 dollar truck with under 100k miles should not give problems for another 150k miles. i just dont wanna go to old i already drive a 2007 chevy 2500 4X4 new body style. how about those front end parts in those dodges? i hear all the bushings and bearings in front end components go bad soon was that one guys experience or half the dodge owners? and 20,00-60,000 miles aint telling me nutin im talking about 120,000 200,000 mile reliability? how much more power does a 07-09 6.7 make than a late model 5.9 power and potential with mods is alot of my decision thanks for all the info it helps
