Default Help Please..need an answer tonight!!!

My dad has a 6.4......He picked up his exhuast and sct livewire today and has an appointment to get his exhuast installed in the morning with a DPF delete....

My question is..Do i need to set the sct to "no DPF" before or after the exhaust is installed?

do it before. make sure that the livewire is GOOD before you tear the exhaust off, otherwise you could be **** out of luck, feel me brotha? good luck!

Sometimes livewires can act up, such as if you have the wrong coding for the transmission tuning (only really happens on early 08's) or sometimes the chip inside the livewire itself can become dislodged, leading to device failure, which is a real pain in the *** if you need to tune the truck still. Just preventative maintenence, a method I live by!!!

oh ok. i programmed it earlier today and everything seemed to be fine, i just put yes when it asked me about the dpf. But it"ll be ok to go ahead and set it to "NO" tonight that way when they do it in the morning it'll already be set?

jared is right on. you can always delete a code after. i had one that let me put the dpf tune on but then come loose inside and went blank. i had time to send it in while the customer had a delete truck. we always make sure with any truck the tune goes in first. then delete the race only exhaust
