Keep the intake, its far better than any of the aftermarket trash available.

ive allwayse been a CTD guy and allwayse will be but had some bad exp at local dealer and ford was the only ones that wanted to deal...but what pushed me over the edge when buying a new truck was thinking about who has had their current motor the longest...with the breed that has had the longest to work out the bugs should have the least basic problems...there fore I got a ford but have missed the mega cab with the 5.9 every day...id actually still be driving it regardless of milage but had 2 battries explode and the dealer could not find the problem

That would be the Cummins. The 6.7 is the same engine as the 5.9 with a bigger bore/stroke.

Thats just a poor dealer. There aren't many items that can cause that and it wouldn't take a good technician long to figure it out.

the problem is finding a good technician...and I thought the 6.7 had other changes than the bore and stroke...I thought there were diffenent emmissions and other changes to it...in my opinion nothing will run with a CTD...but any time changes are made problems are more likely to occure but not allwayse

Most Dodge guys don't even like the 6.7 cummins. I think we can all agree that the emissions systems on these modern diesels has made any sort of fun for us a LOT harder.

You two are correct, its the emissions systems that have changed, not the fundamental engine.

Pull off the EGR, get rid of the intake throttle and delete the exhaust filter and you'll have the same old 5.9, but with more displacement to play with and a vastly superior VGT turbo to get it moving faster.
