I took my 08 up to ft crack a few weeks ago
at one point the computer said 55L/100km
or 4.7 mpg
with a 40'gooseneck and 3000 kg
i went to a dealership to see if it had been reflashed while it was in for te radiator recall
no such thing
but i guess there is lots of talk about ford releasing a flash to improve MPG as it is the #1 complaint

I was told that there is in fact a flash for economy gains. I also had a dealership in Ontario call me the other day asking for items to improve mileage and I said to this guy that sure it can be done but I was not going to be responsible for the warranty issues as the programmer would most certainly void his warranty.

He said it won't it and I said give that to me in writing - he never called back.

You didn't actually think he would did you?

So I have to wonder about this reflash. I wonder if it gets you economy at the expense of power output. Have you heard anything on that aspect?

No, I haven't. It would seem that some dealerships know that it is available while others do not. I'm not sure - but I'm not the dealer...

Yes, you can do it like julian if you take the dpf off and get a kem tuner to turn the regen off. Thats the trick. Hes one of the lucky guys that has it.
