Default Planned 6.4 mods, ideas and tips?

Just picked up a 08' HD 6.4. This is my first 6.4 and against what everyone said about getting an 08' instead of a 09-10.

Currently is bone stock and has 90k miles, my goal is a "safe" ish 550.

My plan and all parts would be ordered and installed at the same time.

Fass 150
Spartan tuner
DPF and EGR delete
Sinister coolant filter
S&B dry filter intake
3 inch charge pipe
turbo sock
On the fence about water/meth

Truck doesn't tow much but when it does its a dump trailer with a cord of firewood that I can do on a stock/tow tune. Truck doesn't see track nor extreme driving. Anything I shouldn't do or that I should add? I wouldn't mind running an Aeromotive pump but I do not know much about them nor can I find any kits.

A Spartan Tuner @ 300 HP + DPF Delete + EGR Delete is all that's required for a "safe" 550 (will be higher, actually) if you aren't going to beat on the truck a lot.

If you romp on it a lot you'll be giving SunCoast a call before too long and you'll want to order ARP Headstuds.

The other stuff you listed is nice (I have a few of those items on mine) but aren't 100% required for your goal of 550 HP.

A simple Chip + Delete are all that's required with the 6.4

HOWEVER: Do NOT get lazy with maintenance, and ONLY use Ford MotorCraft / Racor Filters. (Racor makes the filters for FoMoCo, and are a little cheaper due to not having "MotorCraft" slapped on the box)

Follow the "severe" maintenance schedule, even if you don't fit into that category. It'll save you a lot of $ and grief in the long run.

Cheers!
